Ferns/Palms
The wispy/frondy guys section. Honestly I'm just trying to reduce the load on the "misc" page; most of these plants don't have much in common. Except being really thirsty, I guess.
Asparagus Fern
- Obtained: December 2023
- Image Last Updated: September 2024
- Notes: Starting out this page with a fern that isn't really a fern! One of my favorite plants. I love the wispy little fronds. Reminds me of bonsais.
Golden Clubmoss
- Obtained: September 2024
- Image Last Updated: September 2024
- Notes: Once again not a fern or a palm but a secret third thing. I bought this thinking it was a fern though. That's got to count for something. This plant was growing aggresively until I repotted it; it's been crunching up ever since. I'm trying to remain hopeful that it will eventually rebound. :( I still have the impression that it's a very tenacious plant.
Parlor Palm (Large)
- Obtained: September 2023
- Image Last Updated: January 2024
- Notes: A birthday gift from my mom. One of my first plants. This plant helped me learn how to treat for mealybugs (said with eyes glazed over). I'm sorry it took so long to figure out. It's looking pretty rough right now! (Could not even bring myself to update its photo). Working towards improving its conditions though.
Parlor Palm (Small)
- Obtained: April 2024
- Image Last Updated: June 2024
- Notes: I wanted to see if palms were similar to calatheas in the "adjusts to home environment better if brought in younger," and so far that...seems to be the case! This one's still got some browning that I'm assuming is humidity-related.
Rabbit's Foot Fern
- Obtained: February 2025
- Image Last Updated: February 2025
- Notes: A fuzzy little fellow. I'm not sure I would have picked it out if I knew the rhizomes eventually grow to look like gigantic spider legs, but this thing has already endeared itself to me so I'm in it for the longhaul, I guess. My mom complimented this one, so I put it in the bathroom so she can enjoy it too. Idk how she will feel about the """"rabbit's feet.""""
It's so cute the way new growth unfurls. :')
