FGO (2024)
Contains spoilers for Traum, LB7, and Moriarty's very good interlude.

Have lost count of how many hundreds of quartz I've dumped on her over the years and had no expectations with this banner sooo PLEASANT SURPRISE... I think I had her grailed by the end of the Valentine's event heh
AS IT SHOULD BE
Filing this one under "Oberon quotes that hit hard"

Sea Monster Crisis event...I really liked the Cons and the Trung Sisters. The structure of the event left me nostalgic for Summer 1. I enjoyed the setting. The story itself feels...missing something. I think the fact that the antagonist is treated as one-dimensionally evil was probably my main issue. I did also feel the lack of presence of an epilogue with this one, 'cuz there's no actual time to bond with Taisui. Feels silly nitpicking this one though considering it ran back-to-back with the Bunyan collab, yeesh.
THE SILVER LINING..............

This surely won't be important ever
What's with this analogy I wanna cram this nerd in a locker so bad
KIRSCHTARIA FLAKES
Don't be mean to my dad :(
Who I'm pretty sure is now younger than me :(
Right, into the locker you go
Oh, sweetie........
Really powerful mental image of Moriarty knowing I was going to stop rolling for him if I got my New Favorite Grandpa first, and then hastily coming home too out of some deeply-engrained threat to his #1 Grandpa Status.

Took a break from Traum to do the dog event. This...this might actually be the funniest line to ever exist in all of FGO??
HOLY SHIT YOU TWO ARE TWO PEAS IN A POD...
I did not have any Traum caps past this. This story chapter felt kind of...half-baked to me. Like if the author had had another year to cook, parts of it would have been more fleshed out. In practice there is just so much grandstanding and villainous monologues and show-don't-tell violations it kind of drove me up a wall after a while. Salome's section of story was very nice though.

Idk who decided that Sei and Douman have to interact with each other all the time but it's never not funny, thanks
Had a "once in a lifetime" roll & it left me with such a powerful mental image I ended up doodling it. I want these weird lesbians to get ice cream together or something

Off to the races with this one
WOWIEE
I really enjoyed this event. I did not go into it expecting to like Rikyu as much as I did. He is a very particular flavor of well-intentioned extremist villain that I'm always a bit desperate for more of in media. I think the first time I ever encountered something similiar was Seymour in FFX, but after a certain point the game rugpulls and goes "JK, he's Evil Actually :)" in such a boring way. Rikyu is 100% commited to his own warped ideology though, it's so tasty.
THE GRANDPA OF ALL TIME

GRANDPA...
Okay Moriarty I will admit it you are still my favorite grandpa

LOUHI'S EXPRESSIONS ARE SO GOOD...
LOSTBELT 7 TIME
WHICH MUST MEAN......
FGO has never been shy about U-Olga's villain status but gosh I love how they come right out and say it here. This whole scene reminds me of that moment in One Piece where Boa tries to use the love beam on Luffy and he just scrunches his face up in confusion when nothing happens. If no one's ever traced Madame President doing this then, well, the world is a slightly worse place for it.
Sorry hate to break it to you but we are about to board a Friend Ship; the SS Get Along
YOU'VE GOT MY VOTE TOO, MADAME PRESIDENT
SHE'S SO FUCKING FUNNY
Yes
If you told me back in 2018 that Olga Marie was going to eventually become basically my favorite character in this game I wouldn't have believed you (I think...Goredolf is still #1, but it's a very close margin here). I literally even remember thinking back then, "no matter how thick you lay it on I'm probably never going to like this character." THANKS FOR GIVING HER A SECOND CHANCE AT NARRATIVE RELEVANCE.
